Deposits
We accept deposits of $100.00 to be placed on a waiting lists for a puppy.
They can be placed anytime during the calendar year,Jan.1-Dec.31. All deposits are good for 2 available litters back to back. You must be wanting a puppy soon to place a deposit. Each and every deposit is non-returnable and goes towards the balance of the puppy(s)/dog. When a deposit is placed it tells us that you are serious in purchasing one of our Basset Hound babies. We accept US Postal Money Orders for deposits and when the puppy(s) departs the remaining balance is due in cash only. For owners the are having a puppy shipped, the shipping fees and the balance of the puppy is due 2 weeks prior to shipping at 8 weeks old. If we have discussed about delivery of a puppy(s), the travel fee will need to be paid before we leave out to your destination. |

Choosing your puppy!
Picking your puppy out of a litter is so very
exciting and finding your favorite is a wonderful experience. We have in the past let new owners choose at a early age and we feel as if this was a bit too early. Once you have placed a deposit in with us,we will update you and your family with litter photos. The new owners on the list will recieve emails of the litter announcement and every 2 weeks we will send out litter group photos of the puppies,so you can see them grow.When the puppies are 6 weeks old, we will allow new owners on the waiting list to come pick their puppy up by appointments. At this age, you can get a better feel of their personality, see certain features of the breed, and the coloring/marking you are looking for. There will be no individual photos sent out unless they are shipping or we are delivering. If you are wanting to visit before placing a deposit, we welcome you! These appointments will only be scheduled once all owners have chosen their puppy and the remaining are left looking for a great home. |

Visiting
When visiting our home to view/pickup the
puppy(s)/adult dogs, we ask if you will respect our requirements. Please do not visit any other kennel or be around any unvaccinated dog/puppy within a week in visiting us here. There are too many folks that want to travel to kennel to kennel and spread unwanted canine diseases. Even though all of our puppies are on a vaccine schedule,there is still that small percentage that they can still be in contact with those canine viruses. Puppies immune systems aren't fully developed to all of those diseases until 16 weeks of age. This is why we here at Long Eared Hounds and your vet encourges you to get him/her on a schedule for their vaccines once they leave the breeder. When visiting here, we ask that you wear our vinyl gloves when handling our puppies and not to place them up against your clothing/body. Our main goal is here when all puppies depart is that they are in excellent health. We ask that no cameras are allowed,as this is our home and we hope you respect that.We also don't allow any other animals on our property due to health reasons.Our adult Bassets and puppies love to see new smiling faces and we look forward to seeing you soon. |
